Unfortunately not. This is a requirement set out by the SABS. Doing so will invalidate the warranty and render the plug 'unsafe' in accordance to SABS standards. Attaching the Wonder Plug to an extension cord or multiplug is entirely at the owners risk. For this reason we manufacture a surge protected multiplug range, computer and laptop cords in accordance with SABS requirements.  You can purchase online HERE

The best surge protection is to have the equipment detached from any and all inlets/outlets. This way it is almost impossible for an electrical surge to damage your equipment. However this is not always possible, hence the need for surge protectors. By design, our surge protectors allow you to keep your equipment plugged in at all times. In the event that a surge damaged the equipment, the warranty will kick in to protect it.

Equipment that have more than one connection connected to it must have all inlets / outlets protected. eg. A computer connected to the internet via a direct modem will require the 220Vac power supply socket as well as the telephone line surge protected. Similarly, a TV will require the 220Vac power supply and the antenna surge protected.

A surge will always seek out the weakest point. Like a water pipe under pressure, the water will escape at the weakest point.

NB. the surge protectors that carry a R20000 attached equipment warranty require that all inlet/oulets be surge protected to validate that warranty agreement.

This is not recommended. The rule of Thumb in surge protection is that an electrical or wire cable (coper or otherwise) longer than 15m is required to have surge protection devices situated on either end.
